1. Varicose veins of the spermatic cord are referred to as varicocele. 2. The surgeon removes the testicles and parts of the spermatic cord through the incision. 3. It is incised along its fibres and the spermatic cord is identified and isolated. 4. The entire spermatic cord is removed, as well as the testicle ( s ). 5. The spermatic cord is clamped off in two places and cut between the clamps. 6. Upon palpation of the scrotum, a non-tender, twisted mass along the spermatic cord is felt. 7. The "'pampiniform plexus "'is a network of many small veins found in the human male spermatic cord . 8. The idiopathic varicocele occurs when the valves within the veins along the spermatic cord do not work properly. 9. A long, non-absorbable suture may be left in the stump of the spermatic cord in case later surgery is deemed necessary. 10. This plexus travels along the posterior portion of the testicle with the epididymis and vas deferens, and then into the spermatic cord .
